Project Overview:

The Global Districts project is co-funded by the EC under the DEAR program and implemented by ACRA and its partners across Europe. The project targets young people less involved in global challenges, who come from situations of social and geographic marginalization, with the goal of their greater inclusion as actors of change within society. From informal education activities to schools of civic participation, the project aims to build a process of community activation that creates a link between the local and the global, revealing how international challenges (poverty, climate change, gender discrimination, etc.) act on our society and how local communities can best play their role to make a positive impact. The project places a strong focus on the concepts of intersectionality and gender equality and aims to form the basis for proposals for policy matching and innovation with institutional actors at the local, national and European levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of strategies within the project partnership to engage marginalized young people in community initiatives.
  • Develop adaptable and flexible guidelines, methodologies, and solutions to foster inclusive global citizenship education actions in non-formal education settings.
  • Provide ongoing capacity building for partners by defining relevant content and outputs.
  • Support local project managers and staff in implementing and adapting the action across various contexts and in enhancing the project’s themes and outcomes.
  • Conduct online monthly meetings with local project managers and tutors/facilitators to promote youth engagement.
  • Collaborate with the project manager and the project monitoring expert to assess the effectiveness of youth engagement activities and provide recommendations for improvement.
