In the frame of the Delegated Cooperation project “Reforestation for Communities Prosperity in Eastern Uganda – ReForEst UGANDA (NDICI Africa/2023/450-049) the candidate, under the direct guidance and supervision of the Project Manager, will coordinate the activities of the Soroti Technical Unit, and in accordance with the above, will have to carry out the following tasks:
– to play the role of Team Leader within the decentralized Project Technical Unit Office in Soroti, looking at technical, administrative and logistics issues.
– Advise and inform the Project Management about all aspects of Carbon Credit and Green Finance in the National and International landscape.
– Assess the carbon market and green financing opportunities in Uganda to be applied to ReForEst Uganda intervention.
– Identifying Carbon Credit and Green Finance opportunities suitable to the context and needs, their performance issues and related procedures to be applied to different stakeholders’ requests and potentials.
– Facilitate the implementation of Carbon Credit and Green Financing schemes involving the intervention stakeholders and actors at all levels.
– Implement feasibility studies.
– Reviewing draft project reports and studies.
– Draw up reports on the progress of activities and any other document useful for the correct progress of the projects for his/her competency.
– Write briefs, notes and articles.
– Analyse sectors related policy and legal frameworks reviewing literature on policy, legal, and institutional frameworks, suggest ameliorations which will be discussed later at the higher levels.
– Design monitoring and report frameworks: contribute to design a framework strategy for monitoring and related reporting.
– Develop and implement training Needs Assessment, Training Modules and Manuals for the public, private sectors, Local Authority and Communities.
– Assess the capacity for an emission trading scheme, assessing the capacity and potential for an emission trading scheme.
– Design, organize, implement and facilitate capacity building activities: for stakeholders in the private sector.
– Building strategic partnerships: contribute to building strategic partnerships with the private and public sectors.
