Terms of Reference – Position

Local Accountant in the Kharkiv region

Objective

The selected candidate, as local staff, will operate in the Kharkiv region and support the financial and administrative management of the project. The main task of the Local Accountant is to contribute, through an administrative and accounting support role, to ensuring proper management, monitoring, and administrative control of project activities.

Main Responsibilities

The Local Accountant will:

• Support project accounting management (preparation of accounting files for budgeting and monthly monitoring)
• Assist the Administrative and Procurement Manager in the control and preparation of financial reports for donors, ensuring proper reporting of expenditures and monitoring of on-site financial reporting
• Prepare for and directly support project audits, including monitoring and assisting the Project Coordinator and/or delegates during audit processes
• Verify the compliance and accuracy of supporting financial documents (proofs of expenditure)

REQUIREMENTSKnowledge

• Diploma in accounting and/or a degree in economics, finance, or administrative disciplines, obtained at least 3 years prior
• At least 2 years of previous experience in financial and accounting management of NGO projects funded by institutional donors
• Native Ukrainian Speaker
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Strong computer skills
