Project Coordinator (Expert High Level)

Programme: Supporting Economic Recovery and Resilience of Palestine (SERR-Pal)

Contract Duration: 12 months, renewable subject to project requirements and funding availability.

Expected Start Date: As soon as possible after completion of the recruitment process.

The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) is seeking a highly qualified Project Coordinator to support the implementation of the programme Supporting Economic Recovery and Resilience of Palestine (SERR-Pal). The position is based at the AICS Office in Jerusalem and will contribute to the management and coordination of activities implemented in cooperation with the European Union, UNRWA, Palestinian institutions, and international partners. 

• Coordinate programme implementation and ensure achievement of project objectives, results, timelines, and compliance requirements.
• Support relations and coordination among AICS, the European Union Delegation, UNRWA, implementing partners, and relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate the work of the Programme Management Unit (PMU) and facilitate communication between partners.
• Manage activities directly assigned to AICS under the programme initiatives.
• Monitor project progress and prepare technical and financial reports, payment requests, and other documentation required by the European Union and AICS Headquarters.
• Provide technical and organisational support to Steering Committee and Technical Committee meetings, including agenda preparation, documentation, minutes, and follow-up actions.
• Oversee financial management, procurement processes, budget monitoring, and project planning activities.
• Support audits, monitoring missions, evaluations, and compliance reviews.
• Develop and supervise operational systems and procedures related to procurement, grant management, monitoring and evaluation, accountability, learning, data protection, and financial control.
• Ensure compliance with AICS procedures and European Union regulations, including GDPR requirements.
• Coordinate project communication, visibility, and outreach activities in line with AICS and EU communication guidelines.
• Support the organization of project events, stakeholder visits, and institutional missions.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and exchange of good practices with other donor-funded initiatives.
• Provide technical support to sector experts and perform additional duties assigned by the Head of Office.

• Master's Degree in Economics, International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, Development Studies, or related fields.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in project management and international development cooperation.
• Excellent command of Italian (C2 level) and English (C1 level).
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and related digital tools.
• Strong reporting, coordination, stakeholder management, and organizational skills. 

• Experience managing economic development and vocational education projects.
• Experience with European Union delegated cooperation programmes.
• Knowledge of Arabic (minimum B1 level).
• Previous professional experience in Palestine or the wider region.
