General context of the project

INTERSOS is a humanitarian organisation that works all over the world bringing assistance to people in danger, victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts. The Director General coordinates and manages INTERSOS' Departments and Units in order to fulfil the organisation's objectives, while keeping humanitarian principles at the forefront of its activities.

General purpose of the position

The intern will support the Director General in daily institutional activities and the production of organizational frameworks by:

• Document Management: Proofreading, correcting, and harmonising documents from departments, units, and missions to ensure high-quality, compliant results.
• Reporting: Drafting humanitarian reports, briefing notes, and essential documentation for the Secretariat.
• Meeting Coordination: Participating in meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and ensuring they are shared with relevant staff.
• Internal Communication: Liaising with staff involved in various processes to ensure effective internal communication and following up on deadlines.
• Research & Follow-up: Following up on specific dossiers related to humanitarian standards and international commitments.
• Administrative Support: Providing administrative assistance, managing document archives, and keeping the institutional calendar updated.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

• Ongoing Master’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, International Cooperation, or similar fields.
• The intern will have to hold a student status during the whole duration of the internship.

Required profile and experience:

• Previous volunteering and/or internship experiences in non-profit organisations are evaluated positively.
• International experience (e.g., Erasmus or exchange programs) is considered a plus.
• Strong writing and analytical abilities, with competence in drafting and structuring complex texts.
• Task Management: Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent level of Italian and English (compulsory)
• French is a strong asset.
• Strong motivation for the humanitarian cause.
• Flexibility.

• Excellent organizational skills.
