Overview
Within the Volunteering Unit, the Youth Community Engagement and Volunteer Development Assistant supports the development and implementation of activities aimed at recruiting, engaging, and activating volunteers — with a particular focus on young people under 35 — through the development of the specific projects aimed at young people, partnerships with universities, and the development and management of HUBs designed to support individual volunteer activation.
Responsibilities
Development of the specific projects aimed at young people:
Support in the design of the specific projects aimed at young people, identifying potential opportunities, risks, and assessing its feasibility in terms of resources, budget, sustainability, and long-term impact.
• Competitor benchmarking analysis;
• Stakeholder mapping and identification of partnership opportunities;
• Mapping of partnership opportunities with schools and universities;
• Support in the development of a business model for future scale-up;
• Support in the definition of a roadmap for the implementation of the Strategic Plan 2027–2030.
Youth Volunteer Community Development:
Based on the needs of the volunteering programme, support the development of MSF’s Under 35 volunteer community by designing and implementing activities and formats aimed at engaging individual volunteers, university students, and young people, with a specific focus on those under 35.
• Support the MSF Under 35 community through the design and delivery of dedicated initiatives, such as events, co-creation workshops, and training pathways;
• Promote transnational connections among young MSF volunteers by facilitating opportunities for exchange and dialogue on formats, university events, and local initiatives;
• Support in the identification and development of potential partnerships with universities, aimed at recruiting Under 35 volunteers and creating structured university-based volunteer groups;
• Support the designandimplementationof individual volunteering HUBs, including Digital HUB, Media HUB, etc..
Volunteers Development:
Support the implementation of Volunteering strategy through benchmarking with other NGOs on activities and proposals in different areas (school, festival, events, etc) and by analyzing internal data from different sources (is. Community platform, event platform, etc) in order to identity opportunities and new proposals for the community.
Qualifications
Key requirements:
- Relevant educational background;
- Familiarity with project management and collaboration software (e.g., Loop, Notion, Mural, Canva…).

Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience with volunteers.

- Knowledge of the non-profit/NGO sector;
- Knowledge of MSF;
- Experience with and participation in volunteer activities.
Conditions:
Contract: Fixed-term contract of 12 months with potential extension. Full-time. Level III of Italian CCNL of Commerce.
Gross Annual Salary: min 29.054,20 € - max € 35.606,20 € (depending on experience of the selected candidate).
Starting date: 01/07/2026
Location: Hybrid, MSF Italy Rome or Milan office and from home
