AVSI – Due nuove posizioni – RDC

La ONG Avsi sta selezionando un/a Project Manager e un/a RRMP Coordinator da inserire nella sua operatività in RDC. Durata 6 mesi. Termine per la presentazione delle candidature 28 marzo 2018

 

 

Project Manager – Multisectorial intervention
Closing Date: March 28th 2018
Duty Station: Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanganyika province
Period: 6 months
Starting Date: 1st of May 2018

 

Main objective:
The PM will coordinate a stabilization/resilience project funded by Common Humanitarian Fund in Nyunzu territory (Tanganyika province, South-Eastern DRC) contributing in implementing it and collaborating with the various consortium’s partners and different stakeholders. He/She will guarantee an appropriate monitoring and quality services delivered to targeted beneficiaries. Kindly note that the project is already on going, the new Project Manager will ensure the management of the last 6 months of the action.
Reporting to: Area Team Leader (1st Supervisor) Country Representative (2nd Supervisor)

 

Specific duties:
To be responsible for the activities related to the AVSI-CHF project in Nyunzu territory (mainly Education, Child Protection and Livelihood activities)
Carry out regular field visits (field monitoring, evaluations, reporting, etc.)
Ensure regular update of the project planning and tasks based on monitoring and reporting
Keep good relationships with all relevant stakeholders in the area and include them at the various stage of implementation
Train staff in accurate recording, compilation, analysis and reporting procedures;
Ensure accurate data collection and analysis
Provide direction and mentoring to the field team in the development of plans and implementation of activities
Represent AVSI RDC at district-level coordination meetings (Clusters, Working Groups) and share with the supervisors the main points of the discussions
Work in close collaboration with both locals Operations and SupportUnits

 

Essential Requirements
Candidat profile:
Preferable academic studies in Development, Economics, International Relations, Social Sciences, (education, anthropology, sociology…) or Demography; a Master on Humanitarian Studies or African Studies an asset
Previous working experience in Project Management (minimum 2 years) managing multisectorial and multi-stakeholders programs
Good knowledges of Minimum Humanitarian Standards (SPHERE) and Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS)
Excellent knowledges of Ms. Excel/Access
Fluent in French
Previous experience in DRC an asset

 

Skills
Strong capacity to work under-pressure
Strong facilitation skills
Strong communication skills and cross cultural sensitivity
Willingness to travel within the country

RRMP Coordinator
Closing Date: March 28th 2018
Duty Station: Democratic Republic of Congo, Kalemie (Tanganyika)
Period: 6 months
Starting Date: 1st of May 2018 (depending on grant approval)

 

Main objective:
The Senior RRMP Coordinator leads the AVSI’s RRMP program in ex-Katanga province , ensuring that the assessments and interventions are rapid, accountable, high-quality, pertinent and well planned. The Senior RRMP Coordinator reports to the Country Representative for daily supervision and to the AVSI Humanitarian Advisor. S/he will be based between in Kalemie (Tanganyika), and will spend about 30% his/her time travelling field sites and AVSI main office for the purposes of program monitoring and supervision
Reporting to: Country Representative

 

Specific duties:
Ensure high quality implementation of the RRMP program, in a timely manner, within budget, according to the RRMP technical protocols, and in full compliance with the donor and lead agencies regulations and AVSI’s procedures;
Provide management oversight to the RRMP field team
Ensure that the AVSI’s RRMP is effectively and harmoniously implemented as one program, by developing inter-agency coordination and communication, flexibility, technical exchanges and the identification and implementation of best practices ;
Ensure that program teams and support departments (Administration, Finance, Logistics, Security) work efficiently together in a spirit of collaboration;
Ensure that all reporting (mostly in French) is produced, reviewed and submitted in a timely manner and according to AVSI and donor standards and regulations;
Design proposals and budgets for RRMP extension and follow-on phases
Keep good relationships with all relevant stakeholders like UNICEF, OCHA, Local Authorities, UN Agencies and other NGO’s operating in the area.
Represent AVSI RDC at district-level coordination meetings (Sector Clusters and relevant Humanitarian Coordination Meetings) Participate in the design of future new project(s) in collaboration with AVSI’s Technical Advisors and Country Representative

 

Essential Requirements
Demonstrable knowledge of humanitarian affairs, research and innovation
Preferable academic studies in Economics, Development, Social Sciences; a Master on Humanitarian Studies or Education an asset
At least 3 years proven experience with developing, managing and monitoring humanitarian aid programmes;
Excellent leadership, human resource management , interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
Ability to work in unstable security environments, under pressure, to multi-task, improvise and be flexible
Willingness to travel extensively to visit field sites and endure basic living conditions when travelling to these field sites
Very good command of French and English (spoken and written) required
Experience in conflict / post conflict contexts, preferably in Africa
