AVSI – Project Manager – Mozambico

Fondazione AVSI sta selezionando un/a Project Manager da inserire nella sua operatività in Mozambico . Durata 12 mesi. Scadenza candidature 30/11/2022

Duty Station: Pemba, Cabo Delgado

Period: 12 months

Starting Date: January 2023

Main objective: Support to the management of a UNICEF funded multisectorial emergency project that includes child protection, nutrition (U5) and Education for internally displaced persons in Cabo Delgado

Reporting to: Program Director (1st supervisor) and Country Representative (2nd supervisor)

Specific duties:

  • Management and coordination of project activities
  • Together with the project team, planning and development of activities in the field
  • Support in the supervision and verification of administrative reporting of project expenses and procurement procedures
  • Coordination of activities with respect to the schedule defined by the chronogram
  • Ensure regular activities monitoring in all field locations of the project
  • Drafting, revision and updating of technical documents such as: ToR, Financing Proposals, General Operational Plans etc.
  • Development of relations with local partners and stakeholders involved in the project (institutions, donor, community)
  • Preparation of interim and final, narrative and accounting reports of the project to the donor and competent authorities
  • Actively participate to line cluster meetings and technical working groups
  • Support for verifying the correctness of the administrative reporting of project expenses
  • Coordination of monitoring activities
  • Support junior staff/counselee in actualization of self development plan

Essential Requirement:

  • Qualification: Degree in education, cooperation, international relations or similar
  • Solid knowledge of the Child Protection sector with proven experience in the field of at least 3 years of which at least 2 in CP
  • Experience in the implementation of projects and activities on MHPSS
  • Good knowledge of Minimum Humanitarian Standards (SPHERE) and Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS)
  • Knowledge of foreign languages: excellent knowledge of the English language; knowledge of Portuguese preferable;
  • Computer skills: Excellent knowledge of the main Office IT tools, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
  • It will be considered a plus: Previous work experience in the international cooperation sector in Africa or Mozambique
