WORK CONTEXT
CESVI is currently responding to the humanitarian crisis followed by the conflict in Ukraine.
The intervention is focused on the Protection and Psycho-Social support of the most vulnerable population affected by the conflict. In particular, in the Bucha district, CESVI is implementing a multi-sector intervention in collaboration with local partners.
In this context, CESVI is planning to provide emergency support during the winter by purchasing and distributing food and no food items in support of the population.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The collaboration will start in January 2023.
The central duty station will be the CESVI office in Kyiv, with frequent travels to Bucha (the location of the project activities).
The Project Manager (PM) will refer to the Head of Mission (HoM) in Ukraine and will work in close collaboration with CESVI staff in Ukraine.
The PM will guarantee proper management of the project and provide the necessary technical support to ensure proper procurement procedures and timely distribution of the items to the beneficiaries, as well as monitoring and reporting.
Main tasks and duties
The Project Manager will:
– Ensure the proper application of Donor and CESVI’s procedures- supervise and ensure timely procurement procedures of the winterization items
– Plan and organize logistics for the delivery of the items
– Select and supervise the local staff on the assigned winterization project
– Ensure the proper monitoring of the project’s indicators, including through the development of monitoring tools
– Ensure the proper administrative-financial management of the activities, ensuring that expenditures are in line with the financial plan
– Ensure project reports are submitted timely according to Donor’s requests
– Develop and maintain track records of projects’ outputs, supervise the activities, prepare reports to the Donor and CESVI HQ
– Supervise the Post Distribution Monitoring and analyze its results
– Guarantee the respect of CESVI Safeguarding procedures and standards
External relations activities:
– regularly participate in Clusters and other sectoral coordination fora
– under the supervision of the HoM, maintain coordination and relations with the relevant local authorities and other stakeholders involved in the humanitarian response
– contribute to the development of visibility and communication material, including support to visits from journalists/photographers
– The Project Manager will also contribute to the development of project proposals to expand CESVI’s presence in the area.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
– Degree in Project Management, International Development/Humanitarian sector and/or Economic development, or other relevant sectors
– Minimum 3 years of working experience in development/humanitarian projects funded by institutional donors
– Proven experience in managing projects in humanitarian contexts, particularly with activities related to procurements and distribution of emergency items with a particular focus on logistic aspects
– Fair understanding of budget issues in humanitarian projects (i.e. administrative and financial planning)
– Proficiency in English, written and spoken
– Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, TEAMS
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
– Prior experience in Ukraine and/or other security-sensitive environments
– Prior experience in implementing short-term humanitarian projects addressed to Refugees, IDPs, and Returnees

Such assessment is done by the Occupational Doctor of the Organisation, who will also examine the vaccination coverage, including the anti-Covid19 vaccination.
