Working Context

WeWorld has been working in Palestine since 1992, operating in the field of human rights, humanitarian aid and development to guarantee Palestinian communities access to basic services and available natural resources, in particular with regard to integrated service management, the strengthening of the integrated protection of the population and the enhancement of local socio-economic development in a sustainable and innovative way, with particular attention to the social and economic empowerment of women.

WeWorld in Palestine has 5 offices (central office in Jerusalem and field offices in Gaza City, Ramallah, Hebron and Tubas). Over the decades, WeWorld has implemented several interventions funded by multiple donors: DG ECHO and the European Union, the Italian Cooperation, UN agencies as UNICEF and OCHA, as well as national agencies and donors such as SIDA, GIZ, JICA, DGD, GFFO, FCDO, AECID and others.

WeWorld’s interventions are linked to global and national strategies, including the coordination with and the contribution to the Humanitarian Response Plan of the UN. With a people-centered approach, the priorities are always identified together with the communities we serve, with a specific focus on a triple Nexus approach. The significant amount of data and analysis collected and elaborated by WeWorld in oPt inform the intervention of multiple agencies in Country. WeWorld is a member of the Global WASH Cluster and is part of all the clusters at national level: WASH (member of the Strategic Advisory Group), Education, Food Security, Shelter, Protection and Health.

Job Position

WeWorld is recruiting a Grants Officer who works under the direct responsibility of the Programme Manager. She/he works in coordination with: Programme Officers, Data Analyst and other team member from the Programme Unit. In addition, working closely with the relevant staff member from other department including Project Managers and the team in the field offices. The Grants officer will be also coordinating when needed with national and international partners. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Programme Manager and in close collaboration with the data analyst, the Grants officer will:

  1. Ensures the qualitative production of concepts notes and project proposal in close collaboration with relevant team members (Programme, Operation and Finance teams) in English and Italian
  • She/He coordinates with the Program and Operations Units on the internal workplan for the Concept Notes/proposal submission
  • She/He coordinates the work with the local and international partners with the involvement of the partnerships focal points
  • She/He takes the responsibility of preparing and archive relevant grants related documentations (Proposals, CN). And will be responsible for preparing annexes related to the mission, as requested by HQ focal points
  • She/He checks the coherence between the narrative report/proposal and the budget to identify potential discrepancies and participates in the identification of solutions
  1. Supports the qualitative and timely production of internal and external reporting (intermediary & final reports) and proposal/budget amendments
  • She/He coordinates with the Program & Operation Teams the internal yearly workplan/reports matrix
  • She/He takes a significant part in the preparation of all internal and external reporting by collecting information and inputs from Program and Operation teams in due time, by adapting them to the appropriate format and by timely submitting the final paper for validation to his/her Manager
  • She/He provides reporting which adheres to donors’ contractual guidelines and requirements
  • She/He provides utmost standard of writing and quality to all reporting she/he prepares
  • She/He responsible for compiling and archiving the reports and annexes draft and final versions on the SharePoint
  1. Supports on the Monitoring and compiling information on program progress and operational results
  • In close collaboration with MEAL team members and PMs, she/he will support in following up the implementation of all programs on and collects all information pertaining to operational results, contractual indicators with respect to the MEAL and Project workplans
  • She/He participates in the overall mission’s and Programme Unit team’s effort for the development and improvement of communication and reporting tools
  • She/He participates in the mission’s effort to implement contractual donor guidelines (quality standards, procurement, administration…), by communicating them to relevant team members, checking their application and alerting his/her line Manager anytime a potential breach is identified
  1. Participate in the institutional capitalization of the organization
  • She/He punctually participates in the preparation of accurate, qualitative, comprehensive and updated institutional documentation (such as, but not limited to policies, SoPs, guidelines, manuals, technical catalogues, best practices and resources, lessons learnt…)

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Master or equivalent in the international cooperation and other relevant field
  • Fluency in written English and Italian is mandatory

Professional experience

  • At least 3 years of specific experience in the field of international cooperation
  • Previous experience in producing proposals/CN/external reports for donors such as AICS, EU, UN, etc.
  • Familiar with the Palestinian context (security, social, political, economical aspects)

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of Arabic would be considered an asset
  • Previous working experiences in Palestine and/or middle-east

WHAT WE OFFER

Type of contract: a first 3 (three) month collaboration contract subject to verification of the achievement of specific objectives (these objectives will be agreed together with the Programme Manager and the Country Representative upon arrival on assignment) and a possible second collaboration contract of 9 (nine) month, following the positive evaluation of the first three months of contract and according to fund availability

Gross Salary: to be defined according to the candidate’s profile and WeWorld Salary scale
