Aim of the position

The Education Coordinator will follow up the daily implementation of the activities according to the work plan. In addition will ensure active relation with AVSI partners, local stakeholders and school principles. The education coordinator will be responsible to follow up on the activities implemented in the centers and schools.

Main tasks and responsibilities

I- Programmatic coordination within BTTF team
• Contribute to the overall process of coordination, harmonisation and sharing practices among the team members and project’s partners.
• Ensure that the program is carried out in compliance with MEHE SOP for CB-ECE, BLN and retention in centers and schools.
• Responsible for the implementation and coordination of the educational activities within the project (in compliance with the project work plan, internal regulation, AVSI CP Policy, code of conduct and AVSI values).
• Closely working with the Project Manager to prepare the detailed work plan and forecast the resources needed.
• Responsible for the coordination of the field team (Education teachers and assistant) assigned to the action in close collaboration with the Project Manager (work plan, information sharing, weekly schedule, weekly objectives, technical needs).
• To coordinate with the Education specialist, CP specialist and technical officers to ensure harmonized technical practices endorsed in all projects’ localities.
• To monitor the quality of the education and CP activities on field.
• Assist, when possible, to the regular meeting with teachers, monitor the technical work delivered by the teachers.
• Review weekly technical reports shared by the education assistant and CBO staff, provide feedback and conduct necessary action when needed.
• Review activity plans and reports shared by the animators and CBO staff, provide feedback and conduct necessary action when needed.
• Calling for and leading regular project meetings with the team and other concerned departments in AVSI and sharing the minutes
II- In coordination with MEAL department
• To Review the list of children to be referred to MEHE/formal education with regular follow up with the team to promote access to formal education.
• To organize the registration days in coordination with the outreach department, community volunteers and centers’ staff.
• To coordinate simultaneously between the M&E department and the field staff to ensure the correct functioning of: data collection: online data entry, FGD, reporting and deadlines and make sure all figures are consequently reflected in the project’s log frame.
• To coordinate with the Accountability Officer for the endorsement and putting in place of recommendations/ good practices and guidelines revealed.
III- Coordination with stakeholders
• Ensure active and positive relationships with the school principals, actors/ partners/ stakeholders in the area of intervention in coordination with the Project Manager and the field office coordinator.
• Responsible of the coordination with the outreach department/ CBOs in order to plan for the needed outreach activities and cycles ‘targets.
• Produce a mapping of actors /partners /stakeholders of the area of intervention.
• Closely working with the Project Manager to prepare and conduct assessment and/or survey in the area of intervention.
IV- Reporting
• Provides reports on regular basis in order to follow up on the activities of the project (monthly narrative report).
• Follow deadlines and priorities in reporting, activities schedules, targets and timeframe.
• Update the database of projects’ personnel.
V- Use of projects’ resources
• Ensure that the project is carried out in compliance with AICS and AVSI administrative procedures
• Identify and refer the administrative/ logistic needs of the centers and schools to the office coordinator/ logistic department
• Consolidation and submission of payment tables, Liban Post tables, central purchase request forms, teacher’s recruitments forms based on the forecast of logistic/HR resources needed and agreed with the Area Manager.

Essential Requirements

-University Degree in Education / social studies or equivalent 5 years of professional experience is a must .

Work experience:
-At least three years of experience, preferably with NGOs.

Language proficiency:
Arabic mother tongue, excellent English and proficiency in French
