Who we are looking for

Purpose

Chiesi Foundation is a non-profit organization operational since 2010 and the expression of the social responsibility of Chiesi Farmaceutici, whose aim is to improve the access and the quality of health care services and to alleviate the suffering of patients and their families, suffering from chronic respiratory diseases and neonatal diseases in the low- and middle-income countries. Chiesi Foundation international development program is focused on 3 main areas: 1) scientific research program; 2) the implementation of the NEST – Neonatal Essential Survival Technology, a model aiming at reducing the newborn mortality rate with a specific focus on the francophone African countries; 3) the implementation of the GASP – Global Access to Spirometry Project which aim is to establish a model for the prevention, diagnosis and management of chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma and COPD.

Scope of the Vacancy

Under the supervision of the Chiesi Foundation Coordinator, the Program Officer will be responsible to maintain and deepen relations with strategic key partners; for the coordination and development of project proposal and project supervision and for building and maintain strong relations with internal and external stakeholders. As well as this the position helps the Coordinator to define and implement the Chiesi Foundation operational plan and support the positioning of the organisation in the countries where CF is present.

Main Responsibilities

The Program Officer will be responsible for:

• Support the Coordinator in building and strengthening collaboration with existing and new partners (Corporate and Private Foundations, NGOs, Networks, Academies, Donors etc…) to enhance resource mobilization efforts and improve Foundations’ visibility.

• Evaluating project proposal from implementing partners; supporting and coordinating the proposal development process between the Foundation and the implementing partners; when needed support the development of concept notes and proposals, including designing logical frameworks and budgets;

• Oversee the implementation of the NEST and GASP models (planning, supervision and coordination) in Africa and Latin America (Field supervision trip may be required).

• Gathering and analysing social, economic and health information and develop country situation analyses for internal and external use.

• Liaise directly with implementing partners to put together relevant country and project information as well as best practice for internal and external communications (social media, Chiesi Foundation web site, annual report ect…)

• Support the organization and coordination of internal and external NEST and GASP sensitization activities and networking events.

Experience Required

  • Excellent knowledge of project cycle-management including monitoring and evaluation and project proposal writing.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • At least 3-year experience in a similar role within a Foundation and/or International Development Organization.
  • Understanding of the Global Health and the Neonatal care sector is an asset.
  •  

Education

Master’s Degree in International Development, International Studies or other Social Sciences.

Languages

Fluent in French & English. Spanish is an added value.
