Country Liaison Officer – Sud Sudan
Main objective of the role:
The Country Liaison Officer, in collaboration with the Local Implementing Partner, ensures management of the Project in accordance with project’s documents, donor guidelines and CBM procedures, policies and guidelines, guaranteeing that quality implementation and expected results are achieved. The project coordinator will report to the Desk Officer at CBM Italy Headquarter and will work in close coordination with CBM Regional Office Nairobi.
We are looking for someone who will…
Manage the technical-administrative and financial aspects of project funds in adherence with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (IADC) procedures as well as CBM financial and administrative procedures
Support and supervise the financial management of partner’s project contribution
Prepare financial and narrative reports in adherence to IADC procedures, in collaboration with the local coordinator, the Desk Officer and CBM East Africa Regional Office
Manage the implementation of the project in collaboration with the local project coordinator, through continuous monitoring and supervisio ensuring compliance with IDC procedures
Participate in meetings at the Italian Embassy/Italian Cooperation Office, CBM East Africa Regional Office and other coordination forums related to the CBM work in South Suda
Establish and maintain harmonious relationship with local authorities, NGOs, UN Agencies and other relevant stakeholders
Participate in Eye Care Cooperation meetings, relevant working groups and cluster meetings
Supports country assessment, risk planning, management and reporting
Team management and coaching of all the CBM staffs at BEC
We are looking for someone who has…
University degree in Economics, Business Administration, International Development or related field. An advanced university degree would be an asset
Minimum of 5 years of experience in management and coordination within international NGOs, preferably in developing countries
Minimum of 2 years of experience in management and coordination of IADC projects, including knowledge of specific donor guidelines and priorities
Demonstrated experience in working with NGO financial and operational frameworks
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of M&E procedures, project proposal formulation and reporting
Experience in working and/or travelling in occasionally insecure areas following strict safety & security protocols
English and Italian Fluent, Arab advantageous
Intercultural knowledge and sensitivity
Excellent communication and strong relationships building skills
Result and customer service orientation
Good knowledge of MS Office (particularly advanced Excel skills) and Project Cycle Management Skills
